Delvin Defoe
Delvin Defoe is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Dr. Defoe holds his PhD and a Masters degree in Computer Science from Washington University in Saint Louis. During his tenure at Washington University, Dr. Defoe worked with the DOC Group under the direction of Ron Cytron.
His research focuses on choosing appropriate memory management schemes for real-time applications. One of his research directions includes analyzing the cost associated with memory models that do not involve garbage collection.
Since real-time garbage collection is presented as a viable option for managing memory for real-time applications, another facet of his research concerns the optimization of novel approaches to garbage collection on multi-processor systems.
Dr. Defoe is a member of the ACM and SIGCSE.
