The Senior Thesis is an alternative to the Senior Project aimed at students who intend to pursue graduate education. Independent research experience is gained while working one-on-one with a faculty member. Generally, a thesis starts fall term of a student's final year and lasts two terms. The thesis should describe a significant and novel research effort. In addition to the thesis (i.e. the written document) an oral presentation of the work is required. Self-motivation and intellectual curiosity are important characteristics for students considering a senior thesis.
